The Kaleida Health Corporate Security Department provides a safe and secure environment for our patients staff and visitors. 120 armed and unarmed New York State Certified Security Officers staff the Department 24/7. The use of access control systems, closed circuit television, lock and key function, alarm surveillance, ID badges, training, preventive patrol, incident investigation and information sharing supplement the uniformed force.

The department strives to provide protection services in a professional, courteous, cost-effective and unbiased manner while continuously improving performance.

A safe and secure environment is essential to the provision of healthcare services and academic pursuits throughout the Kaleida Health network. The Department's utmost concern is for the safety and welfare of all persons utilizing Kaleida Health facilities and services. Kaleida Health staff is encouraged to partner with security personnel by being vigilant for and reporting criminal or suspicious activity. In addition staff must take the initiative to secure their own personal property as well as Kaleida and University property.

Services Provided:

Lost and Found -- Lost and found items are accepted and stored in the site security offices. Reasonable effort is made to contact owners of lost property. Security Officers will pick up items if notified or items may be dropped at the site Security office.

Motorist Assistance -- Jump-starts, tire inflation products and key extrication assistance is available at most sites. Contact the site Security office for help.

Security Escorts -- Security personnel are posted in parking lots and other strategic areas to observe staff and visitors. Staff and visitors are encouraged to use the escort service during low traffic periods. This is a departmental priority and is not a bother. Contact your site Security office or ask floor nursing staff.
